Operating Room Safety

Description

This course is designed for Health Care personnel who function within a perioperative setting. Operating rooms have strict guidelines due to the safety concerns of patients. This course provides the essential knowledge to properly manage the health and safety hazards present in the operating rooms.

Learning Objectives

On completion of this course, you will be able to

• Identify hazards present in the operating rooms.
• List the actions that can be taken to minimize these hazards.
• Identify the types of fires that can occur in OR’s
• Know how to prevent OR fires
• Know location of med. gases shut offs and electrical controls
• Know location and activation of fire alarm system
• Know methods for rescue & escape
